One Click Care – serve families of special needs
Joson Chan, founder of the Hong Kong Angelman Syndrome Foundation, and Miss Margaret Chung, founder of the Beyond Fund, plan to carry out a mobile application program named “One Click Care”, which provides useful information and services to families with special needs.
"In the near future, we would like to develop a one-stop service platform using a mobile app for these families. We hope this mobile app can help them in terms of living, basic necessities and entertainment" said Joson Chan.
"If there is a platform, for example, parents can be able to get acquainted with each other. It is important, as for example, Joson and I have children of special needs and we often need the support of others, and are happier as we get more experience and learn more." said Margaret Chung. "I think this mobile app can enable us to have outside friends, maybe they can participate to learn the network catered for persons with special needs and in cases arose they can participate in volunteer service. I hope to develop not just a platform for families with special needs but indeed a platform that everybody can join and participate.”
They also plan to carry out the "Priority Table" action as a first shot to promote the provision of priority tables by restaurants to accommodate those who are in need.
Joson Chan said, "With this mobile application, there will be a whole city "priority table "campaign, which is intended to help people to understand more about the disabled community. In fact, like normal people, we can go out to eat together, and enjoy all the resources in the community. So you are urged to pay close attention to our "One Click Care" launching and the first shot is "priority table".
"I would like to say to the audience and to my friends that if you are on the street or in the restaurant or wherever you are, if you see a disabled person or a child with special needs, you just think " what happened to him? Or "Why do kids like that?" Or if you really encounter some families that are in need, or if you want to know more, just come forward to me to learn more.” said Margaret Chung.
